Local elections take place on Thursday, 9th May – for Hatley Parish Council and the district council.

- To be eligible, you need to be on the electoral roll and have lived in Hatley for a year or more.

The council comprises five members: a chairman, vice-chairman and three others. What binds our parish councillors is…

- Wish to serve their community.
- Provide a voice for residents.
- Interested in local current affairs.
- Want to help shape the future of Hatley.
- Like the challenges of being a councillor.

The post is unpaid and the term of office will run until the next election in May 2030.
As a parish councillor you would be expected to attend parish council meetings, which are held five times a year (plus the occasional Extraordinary Meeting).
To be considered for the vacancy you must be…
- Aged 18 or over.
- An elector.
- A resident or worker based within three miles of the parish during the past year.
- About the parish council.
