Gamlingay is the closest large village to Hatley, about four miles away.
It has shops, pubs, churches, foodie places, garages, lots of clubs and many nice old buildings – plus a junior school, post office, chemist, doctors, library / community centre, Big Wood and a monthly newsletter, the Gamlingay Gazette, which is also delivered in Hatley.
It’s also on a couple of bus routes – but there’s nowhere to get cash (other than at the post office and store ‘cash-backs’) and it could do with more employment opportunities.
